COVID 19 and Patient Safety
Putting Your Safety First
While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.
- Wellness check and recent exposure questions for every patient and daily for our employees. This will include taking your temperature.
- Face Masks: Every patient, family member, and friend must wear a face mask at all times, except when sitting in the dental chair. You will be in good company since everyone in our office will be wearing a mask when you meet them.
- Hand Sanitizer: Every patient, family member, and friend will be required to use hand sanitizer upon entering our office. We have multiple dispensers throughout the office for you to use as needed. You may notice that our reception area will no longer offer magazines and so forth since these items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- Social Distancing: We will try to seat you in our private treatment room as soon as you check in and have your temperature taken.
- Separate Treatment Rooms: Thankfully we don’t have “open bays” like many dental offices. We are already set up to have all of our patients completely separated by a wall when being treated.
- Pre-Procedure Mouth Rinse: Over-the-counter peroxide-based rinse to temporarily kill any germs in your mouth.
- Aerosol Control: We purchased new Air Purifiers to help eliminate concerns about any germs floating through the air. They are placed throughout the office.
We are also counting on you to help us keep our office germ and virus-free.
If you are experiencing or have experienced any of the following, please reschedule your appointment and see your physician.
- Fever, Chills, Muscle pains, Sore Throat, Headache
- Cough and/or Shortness of Breath
- Loss of taste or smell
- You have been exposed to COVID-19 within the past 14 days
- If you have traveled by airplane in the last 14 days.
- You are “just getting over” a cold or the flu
- Or, if you are not feeling great
We are all in this together and are here to help! We are committed to providing you with the best dental care available and helping keep you and our entire community healthy. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.
