Angel has been a resident of the Washington D.C. area for over 20 years. She attended The University of Maryland Baltimore, College of Dental Surgery Dental School, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. While in school she received The HU- FRIEDY GOLDEN SCALER AWARD, for exemplifying the qualities of humanitarianism, ethical standards, devotion to the profession and clinical excellence. She also received THE LISA MAZZA MEMORIAL AWARD for outstanding interest and participation in the Maryland Chapter of Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association. She is licensed to practice in both D.C. and Maryland, and is an active member of the American Dental Hygienist Association. Angel has been with Drs Phillips and Cooper since August 2003. She enjoys the career choice of dental hygiene because it allows her to devote attention to improving patients/clients overall health via good oral health with a focus on patient education, and motivation with individual instruction and treatment planning. Her future goal is to become active in the community and invest time in public health concerns.

Mariza was born and raised in locos Sur, Philippines. She attended the National University in Manila, Philippines to study dentistry, graduating with a degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1995. She ff married her wonderful husband and immigrated to the United States in 1997. She worked as a dental assistant for 2 years, then decided to enroll in hygiene school at Howard University. She completed her training in the fall of 2004. Mariza has been with Dr. Phillips and Dr.
Cooper since 2005 as a dental hygienist, as well as 2 years of dental assisting prior to that. Mariza's favorite part of her job is interacting with our great patients- touched by many stories, jokes, journeys and children- most of all, she loves being able to provide the most up to date care possible.
